Level Framework
The Vivamos Spanish curriculum follows a spiral approach, continually revisiting vocabulary, grammatical concepts, & sentence structure, with each level progressively increasing in complexity. Our 8 levels were designed to accommodate a range of grades, empowering teachers to select the workbooks most suitable for their students' needs. While the grades recommended for each level are often a great fit for these age groups, teachers are welcome to choose any level for any grade. Level A
Recommended for Grades PK-K
Students are introduced to Spanish in a playful, engaging way through fun activities, storytelling, and songs. They begin to recognize vowel sounds and vocabulary words as they learn essential language components such as colors, numbers, and greetings!

Level B
Recommended for Grades K-1
Students will master pronunciation of the Spanish alphabet and learn to associate A-M letters with specific vocabulary words. They’ll also describe nouns using simple adjectives, and they’ll explore foundational phrases like ‘Me gusta' and ‘No me gusta.’

Level C
Recommended for Grades K-2
Students will expand their core vocabulary as they venture through the entire Spanish alphabet from A-Z. They’ll pair these nouns with essential grammatical skills like ‘El/La/Los/Las,’ leading to their ability to read and write simple sentences!

Level D
Recommended for Grades 1-3
Students will combine essential phrases like ‘Tengo’ and ‘No tengo’ with vocabulary and adjectives to express themselves confidently through speech and in writing. They’ll also discover how adjectives change based on a noun’s gender and quantity.

Level E
Recommended for Grades 3-6
Students will deepen their understanding of adapting adjectives to nouns, and showcase this by writing short paragraphs. They’ll also explore new sentence structures that incorporate verbs in their infinitive form, and they’ll reinforce their speaking skills through fun skits!

Level F
Recommended for Grades 4-6
Students will learn how to conjugate verbs and implement them into more advanced sentence structures! They'll dive into the present tense, utilizing more than sixty verbs and applying them confidently in real-world situations such as projects and conversations.

Level G
Recommended for Grades 5-6
Students will dive deeper into a wide range of vocabulary and grammatical concepts, reinforcing sentence-building through engaging exercises. With a strong emphasis on writing, listening, and speaking, students will increase their comprehension and communication skills.

Level H
Recommended for Grades 5-6
Students will engage in dynamic activities, both independently and in groups. They’ll also successfully present Spanish projects and skits in front of an audience. Upon culmination, students will feel comfortable reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Spanish!
